Wow is the first word that came into my head at my appointment this week. So much information was given to me that it kind of caught me off guard. This week I met with a nurse at the fertility clinic and it was simply an hour long chat about what is going to be happening over the next few weeks and also most importantly find out if I'd lost enough weight to start treatment. It was unfortunate that Lee couldn't make it as he's away at the moment but my mum was there for support even though she wasn't allowed to come into the actual appointment it was good to have her there when I got out.
So the big deciding factor did I loose enough weight? The answer is YES I did and I can't tell you how proud and pleased I am with myself that I done it and that was over Christmas so safe to say I was pretty pleased :)
For the rest of the appointment it's hard to say what I took in and what just went over the top of my head for what I took from it the next few weeks are going to be hard going and my body is going to be pushed to its limits and for best part of it ill be doing it on my own which we knew before hand but it doesn't make it any easier.
The part I'm dreading the most out of it all is having to inject myself for two weeks with one injection and then a further two weeks with two injections. I mean I can't even pluck my eye brows cos I can't physically inflict pain on myself so this is going to be a challenge. I think after I've done it once and break the mental barrier ill be ok but the initial time is going to be so hard. The nurse showed me the size of the needles and its not that bad but it's a needle I'm terrified of them!!
I just have to try and keep a positive frame of mind and focus in what could be the most amazing final result ever, at the moment it seems a mile off and the whole process is extremely daunting but it won't be long until we are waiting to find out if it has worked.
The next step now is to phone the hospital on Monday and find out what date next week to go for a scan and then find out which treatment they have chosen for me.
With that all I can say is bring it on, it's going to be hard and I have questioned if I'm really prepared and ready for what's coming but at the end of the day this is what we have been waiting for and now it's here we have to grab hold of it with both hands cos its going to be an emotional roller coaster.
